| Título: | Amor e Ética no Pensamento de Hannah Arendt |

| Resumo: | Com a finalidade de apreender as relações entre ética, política e liberdade no pensamento de H. Arendt, esta tese dedicou-se a elucidar o empreendimento arendtiano em A vida do Espírito, inacabado e não explicitado com a morte dessa pensadora, em 1975. Por considerar que esse empreendimento só poderia vir à luz com o auxílio dos estudos que Arendt empreendeu no âmbito da teoria política, esta investigação, nos três capítulos iniciais, ocupou-se dos principais conceitos e análises que constituem a teoria política arendtiana. Colocando no centro da investigação os conceitos de autoridade, liberdade e amor, esses capítulos subsidiaram as reflexões sobre as atividades do espírito nos dois últimos capítulos deste estudo, bem como revelaram o sentido de liberdade, autoridade e amor em três contextos históricos distintos. Assentados, principalmente, nas conferências e nos escritos arendtianos posteriores ao julgamento de Adolf Eichmann, os capítulos finais decifraram, na medida do possível, os enigmas que H. Arendt deixou por resolver na última obra, isto é, em O Julgar a terceira parte de A vida do espírito que não chegou a ser iniciada. Firmemente apoiada na teoria política de H. Arendt, esta tese abriu caminho para a elucidação das relações entre ética, liberdade e política no pensamento arendtiano ao estudar as faculdades do pensamento e da vontade. Aproximou-se desse intento quando atribuiu importância à constituição de um Eu-duradouro para a análise das relações entre mal e faculdade da vontade, uma noção que tem escapado às análises dedicadas ao estudo do conceito de banalidade do mal. A partir da apreensão da concepção de ética no pensamento de Arendt associada ao bem e ao mal e do estudo da interpretação arendtiana da terceira crítica kantiana Crítica à faculdade do juízo -, este estudo alcançou mais do que procurava: uma ética que tem como princípio o Amor ao Mundo e que revelou ser o coração de uma filosofia da liberdade |
| Abstract: | With the goal of apprehending the relationships between ethics, politics and freedom in the thought of H. Arendt, this thesis was dedicated to elucidate Arendt s enterprise in Life of the mind, unfinished and not explicit because of her death in 1975. Considering that this enterprise could only see the light with the help of the studies which Arendt undertook in the field of political theory, the first three chapters of this investigation dealt with the main concepts and analyses that constitute Arendt s political theory. Placing the concepts of authority, freedom and love in the center of this investigation these chapters subsidized the reflections about the activities of the mind developed in the last two chapters of this study, as well as revealed the meaning of freedom, authority and love in three different historical contexts. Based mainly on Arendt s conferences and writings subsequent to the trial of Adolf Eichmann, the last chapters deciphered, as far as possible, the enigmas H. Arendt left to be solved in the last work, that is, in Judging, the third part of Life of the Mind that hasn t even been started. Firmly supported by Arendt s political theory, this thesis opened the way to the elucidation of the relationships between ethics, freedom and politics in Arendt s thought, studying the faculties of thinking and will. It approached this purpose as it attributed importance to the constitution of an enduring I for the analysis of the relationship between evil and the faculty of will, a notion that has been absent in the analyses concerned with the study of the concept of banality of evil. From the apprehension of the conception of ethics in Arendt s thought associated with good end evil and the study of Arendt s interpretation of the third Kantian critique Critique of Judgment - this study has attained more than it had sought to: an ethics that has as its principle the Love to the World and that revealed itself as the heart of a philosophy of freedom |
